NJ sports betting handle on Super Bowl more than doubles from last year

unday’s Super Bowl LV bets in New Jersey more than doubled from last year’s game, according to preliminary wagering data from the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement.
Wagering on this year’s Super Bowl totaled approximately $117.4 million, with a projected total sports wagering payout of $106.1 million. This resulted in a win of $11.3 million for the sports wagering books, the DGE said Monday, as reported by The Press of Atlantic City. The total wagering reflects a 116% increase over wagering from the 2020 Super Bowl, which was $54.3 million.
Revenue figures this year include New Jersey’s 12 retail sportsbooks and 21 sports wagering mobile applications, the DGE said.
Last year, preliminary wagering statistics reported by Atlantic City casinos and New Jersey horse tracks showed that wagering on Kansas City Chiefs vs. the Los Angeles Rams’ Super Bowl totaled approximately $54.3 million and with a projected total sports wagering payout of $58,568,699, the DGE said. This resulted in a loss of $4.28 million, which represented a negative hold percentage of 7.8%, the DGE said. Those revenue figures included New Jersey’s 10 retail sports books and 19 sports wagering mobile applications.

Barry Sanders inks multi-year deal with BetMGM as celebrity brand ambassador

arry Sanders will star in BetMGM’s upcoming marketing campaigns and participate in a variety of events with BetMGM customers. 
“I’m excited to be a part of the BetMGM team and hop on the ride of the fastest-growing sports betting app in the business,” said Sanders. “Typically, I am the one breaking records in Michigan, but it is amazing to see what BetMGM already has accomplished in my home state.” 
BetMGM is the first Official Sports Betting Partner of the Detroit Lions, with whom Sanders played 10 seasons. He was named the NFL’s Most Valuable Player in 1997 and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2004.
The former Heisman Trophy winner will engage with BetMGM players and MGM Resorts’ M life Rewards loyalty members through public and private events, both virtual and in-person. Additionally, Sanders will appear in BetMGM social media content and make guest appearances on radio and television programs nationwide.

NFL’s exclusive LatAm Super Bowl sponsor Betcris sets new betting options for Sunday’s game

ports gambling operator Betcris has become the exclusive sponsor of the NFL and Super Bowl in Latin America. The final game between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Kansas City Chiefs, which will look to defend their Super Bowl LIV championship, is set to take place on Sunday.
Betcris said sports gambling markets are seeing “non-stop flurries of activity,” with gamblers showing interest in all possible wagers, from moneylines to prop bets. Ahead of the Super Bowl game this Sunday, Betcris said it is “gearing up with tons of gambling options” for sports gamblers throughout the region.
The online sports gambling segment is expected to receive most of the action on this year’s Super Bowl. The standard lines, which currently favor the Chiefs by just three points, have been particularly active this year, and Betcris’s sports gambling operations in several countries are staying busy. Bets on moneylines, Over/Unders for the first and second half and the game, spreads and handicaps are constantly reaching new levels, but so are the many prop bets Betcris has lined up.

Every year, the NFL sees an extensive list of prop bets associated with the Super Bowl. Wagers on the length of the singing of the National Anthem, whether the coin toss will land on heads or tails and what color Gatorade (if any) will be showered on the winning coach are annual favorites. This year, though, Betcris has added some additional touches to the list, including the color of tape that Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes will wear and how many times Brady’s wife, Gisele Bundchen, will appear during the broadcast.
There are other prop bets being offered by Betcris, as well, including who will win the MVP award and how many tweets President of the United States Joe Biden will make during the game. The gaming operator also has some exotic bets in place, including Super Bowl-vs-NBA game stats, among others.
Betcris said it has been proud of its involvement with the NFL in Latin America and, as part of its sponsorship agreement, was authorized to take several individuals to watch the game live in Tampa Bay, Florida. However, because of COVID-19 restrictions, that option had to be temporarily removed, but Betcris is optimistic that it will be able to fulfill some football fans’ dreams next year. It is still moving forward with other perks offered through the relationship with the league, including the awarding of NFL Game Passes and official league merchandise.
